Because of the economy I want to find a way to earn an income online.?

The first thing I recommend is getting a good webhost, I have been using http://hosting.sequimpc.com for a few years with 0 complaints. They offer the most service for the lowest price and as I like to say, the "Most Bang for Your Buck"!
Unlimited is pretty much the word, you can use them to run as many domains as you want, like "myown.com","somebodyelse's.com",MyOwn.n... etc. You can easily set up a WordPress blog or forum with out any outside help. Their Tech support is 24/7 365 and based out of Utah! I would rather talk to Mormons than 3rd world tech support any day!
It all costs roughly $6.00 a month as long as you pay in advance for your service. They are a trusted company and have been around for many years as Bluehost.com but now they split off into a sister company which is the one I recommend because it is cheaper.
Right now I have about 20 email addresses for my business 5 domains for making money online using http://01tech.net/easy-googlecash services and http://01tech.net/email-deliverability-c... If you like either of those 2 programs, you can sign up as an affiliate to earn a little extra money.

Well, the first thing to do to research whether something is a scam or not is to google the term and then follow with the word "scam"....like "whatever scam" and then you'll come up with good and bad search results.
The second thing is to realize that you're going to have to invest some money in any business that you start online. You just have to educate yourself so you can use the money you have to invest wisely.
If you just want a job to do online, like typing or data entry, that's a little harder to find.
There are a couple of things I would suggest. If you like to work online, you can start your own blog and put adsense on it where you can make a little money with Google. That's something you can do for free but it takes a long time to get established. You have to learn all about blogging and getting people to your blog because if you have no traffic, you won't get any clicks or money from adsense.
You can also start your own website. I use http:// www.sitesell.com/Eunice1.html . It's a little expensive to start out ($300 a year) but they teach you how to build a website that brings traffic and gets clicks and makes money. Lots of people from different walks of life have their own websites based on their interests and hobbies and make money, not just from adsense but other programs as well.

- ebay: sell stuff around the house, find hidden treasures at garage sales, use a drop shipper
- start a blog that provides somethe interesting or valuable. This will drive traffic to your site

- Take paid surveys. They do actually pay you money for taking surveys online. But they can be a bit time consuming becuase you have to take a pre-qualification survey, and a lot of times you won't qualify. So it's a numbers game.
That's just a start, but there are tons of ways to make money online. For a newbie, i suggest starting a blog (look at blogger.com) and strart writing consistantly. It will take some time for traffic to come, so don't give up.
