How can I write online to earn an income? Are there any reputable companies who pay for online writers?

Hi Dean A

Let's review some fundamentals:

1. Get your reader in mind

This is the single most important point of your article. Your reader must find a secret in your article, something he wasn't aware of. When you do this, you will instantly connect to your reader and he will want to know more about you and what you have to offer. Seriously, give to your reader an instant reward.

2. A Powerful headline

Your headline should "shout" to your reader: "read me, read me, there's something for your here"... You see what I mean. If your headline don't have an immediate impact on a web surfer (potential reader) in your niche, your article may not do well, and nobody will visit your website.

3. Solve a problem

Once you grabbed your reader's attention and he finally decided that it was in his best interest to read your article, show him that you have the ability to solve his problem and give him one or several solution,

Show him that you care about him (or her), and lead him to...

3. A powerful call to action

Be sure to add a resource box with a link to your website. It seems obvious, but many people link to an affiliate website (these people are called bum marketers). This is not an effective strategy because many articles don't accept direct linking. Believe me, it will be a pain in the neck to change all your links (and you won't be able to do so) towards a new website if the merchant decided to cancel his program.

I am personally a freelance writer. I write articles for $15/piece at demand studios but I'm researching residual income sources now. I just found this site that pays you adsense revenue for your articles. It has potential: http://www.howhub.com/hlruther-invite/
